Overcome the dead point with Q-Rings and INpower powermeters – ROTOR bike components
ROTOR originated from the vision of the two Spanish friends and bike enthusiasts Pablo Carrasco and Ignacio Estellés, who wanted to overcome the dead spot in a pedal stroke for improved performance and thus revolutionize bicycle drivetrain technology. Even though there had already been the elliptical chainring BioPace by Shimano that couldn’t establish itself on the market back until 1993, the two men took a different approach with the Q-Rings. Maximum power, improved traction, perfect acceleration and an optimized pedal stroke became ROTOR’s driving force. After development, the components have always been produced in a CNC workshop on site to keep distances short and to meet the own high precision standard. Yet, ROTOR is not only known for their innovative Q-Rings. The INpower powermeters crank-integrated sensors on one or both sides offer a modern data collection and wireless technology for road, cross and MTB to become stronger, faster and more efficient. Teams and individual athletes in road cycling, triathlon, mountain biking, cyclocross and on the track ride with ROTOR components.
Faster acceleration and traction – when you need it the most.
Today, the Spanish Rotor Technology Components SL holds all rights of the brand ROTOR Bike Components. Both out of necessity and inspiration, the development team around aeronautical engineer and lawyer has devoted itself to radical innovations, so that sophisticated ROTOR bike parts like oval Q-Rings, cranks, bottom brackets and chains for improved pedalling efficiency make bike enthusiasts prick up their ears. The milled hard anodized chainrings made from high-quality aluminium alloys are used by successful road cyclists, triathletes and mountain bikers all over the world – whether as Q-Rings or round versions or for singlespeed, double or triple cranks. Apart from Direct Mount chainrings, ROTOR also offers chainrings for screw-on and spider systems by Shimano, SRAM, Race Face, Hawk, Raptor etc. The fight against weight, instability and wind resistance as well as a high compatibility are initial for aerodynamic chainrings in a one-piece design, as well as for aero and lightweight cranksets made of CNC machined forged aluminium alloys that fit all standard crankset and cassette systems. Especially on the road and triathlon sector, the Rotor Trinity Drilling System with a triple drilled hollow construction of the crank arms contributes to an outstanding stiffness-to-weight ratio.
Extensive compatibility with bikes of any brand, any age and any type
ROTOR uses the UBB design concept (Universal Bottom Brackets) for all their cranksets to make them compatible with all available standards of bottom brackets, cranks and frames. It allows you to fit a Rotor crank to almost any bike, irrespective of the bottom bracket type. A wealth of different bottom brackets like BSA, ITA, BB bearings and press-fit in diverse sizes from BB30, via BB386 EVO through to Pressfit 30 can be adapted to the UBB concept for the installation of lightweight aluminium pedal cranks. The UNO component series with hydraulic technology for road, triathlon and cyclocross use was developed in cooperation with Magura and the chain manufacturer KMC. ROTOR develops new concepts for Road, Triathlon, Fixie/Track, Marathon, Enduro/DH and Cyclocross that improve the ride of people all over the world. This is just the beginning…
